nor is the Disney name going to help an action blockbuster get traction.

Maybe they thought 'well, those Pirates movies had our name on them', missing the point completely.

On another forum I frequent, a regular there says he was at the filming last night, he didn't see much filming but he got to met Matt Smith who came over to meet and greet the fans. Jammy bastard.

Also, the new series will start in September at some point as the first part of the series will be out on dvd and Blu Ray in the UK on October 29th- http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/3459 … tails.html

STOP THE PRESSES do you guys not like Martha Jones? Martha is my favorite companion!
Donna is my second favorite, followed by Amy and then Rose. I feel weird placing Rose last since Billie Piper was the person who got me into DW in the first place, but her writing got sloppy towards the end of her run.

I liked Martha but I thought she was wasted during her season, all she did was fawn over the Doctor and that got boring very quickly. I don't think the hatred aimed at Martha is fair, I certainly don't think it's Freema's fault, she tried her best but RTD screwed her over with poor dialogue and stories. It's telling that the best story (for her character) she's in was actually adapted from an existing Who novel (Human Nature/The Family Of Blood) just with added racial tension........

And a positive black role model for children on British TV is always a good thing. smile

You've never heard of Cynthia Rothrock? Wow. She's pretty good when the script and direction is good except she often picks projects with shit scripts and worst directors.  She's been in more than a few stinkers but that clip shows how good he could be. If you can find her Hong Kong films, stick with them, her American stuff largely sucks with very poor fight work. Want to see her take on Sammo Hung? Course you do-

Obscurus Lupa on the That Guy With The Glasses network has a major girl hard-on for her and has reviewed a few of her worst films.

Oh, the Fraggles were cunts to the Doozers, no doubt about it. Fun fact: The UK version of Fraggle Rock was set in the UK and not the US. We had a lighthouse keeper played by a Scot called Fulton MacKay who sadly died and was replaced by John Gordon Sinclair (from Gregory's Girl) in season 4. He was in turn replaced by Liverpudlian  Simon O'Brien for the show's final year or two. The Uncle Travelling Matt versions were re-shot to include UK locations too but the main Fraggles stories remained the same.  A lot of the original UK set scenes have been lost over the years.....

I only knew there was a different dude when I saw Doc in the Muppets Family Christmas. And I never saw the animated Fraggle Rock. Sorry, as you were, folks big_smile

Have you watched True Lies recently? It really drags in the middle. I'd say it is half an awesome movie.

I agree with you on John Carter,by the way. I don't think it's great but it doesn't deserve the hate. A wee rhyme for you there, free of charge. Bam!

I was trying to do that tonight but she was having none of it big_smile

It can be scary hearing her talk, she was off on a 'Christian retreat' last week, which is actually a bit worrying. She believes god plants messages and images in her brain and her flat was haunted by demons when she first moved in but god got rid of them.

I understand that some people need to believe something to help them along in life, but bloody hell. Oh, and apparently, Christians don't like Jehovah Witnesses because they don't think going door to door is the way to go.....

I just had a very interesting 90 minute chat with the 20 year old girl across the road. An hour of that was devoted (hah) to talking about god. Now, this girl is a very nice and sweet but slightly messed up young woman. Not messed up because of her belief of god (she's a Christian) but because of other shit that has happened in her life. Although, you certainly could argue that her belief doesn't help. despite her claims to the contrary.

But....yeah.....it was a very interesting conversation. A Christian and an Atheist talking about god and the bible. Ok, it was two friends of opposing views talking about god and the bible but still. They really have an answer for everything, don't they.....?

I picked Fincher at random, my point is really "you don't just get paid more for making it in English."

Then again, I don't think Fido's point was the guy should make the same movie again, only for forty mil this time.

Nothing to see here.

Yeah, that was going to be my next point in the argument. No fun when you spot the mistake yourself big_smile

This is true, they learned not to fuck with Scotland that day! big_smile

And to elaborate on my point, there aren't many terrorists attacks in small town Scotland.

But Fincher didn't remake his own film, he remade someone else's.

God, that US Raid cover is bad, what is with the RT 'certified fresh' logo???  Even the normal UK Blu is better than that, even if it is a tad inaccurate-

OMG you guys, I was at the bookstore the other day and there was this backpack outside, and I was like "that's strange..." but I didn't do anything. Now I'm worried that that was a bomb and it'll be my fault if it goes off and kills people. Should I call the police now, or should I go back and check if the backpack is still there first?

The other day? Leaving a bit late aren't you? If it hasn't exploded by now, I think it is safe to say all is fine. big_smile

We should mentione the Raid all the time now. If not every page, at least every two.

It's out in the UK September 24th on Blu Ray and DVD. Look at this exclusive steelbook cover that UK online retailer Play.com have-

The cover art is by Jock, the dude who illustrated most issues of The Losers comic (and fellow Scot who is from East Kilbride which is quite close to me). And the UK has an exclusive director's commentary, apparently. It's on my birthday presents list for October big_smile

You're a bit late to the party on The Raid, Lamer it has been mentioned a few times on this thread big_smile

Just messing with you, glad you liked it, it's a great action film.
