Pacific Rim
Oh come on Hollywood, give me Indiana Jones with Nathan Fillion. Just do it. Please.
But I bet he can do the best no handed keg stand ever!
are they vegan?
Well, we have one other cookie...but it's been sitting under the fridge for a while, and it wasn't really a very good cookie to begin with.
Freaking sweet. Obviously people have been doing similar stuff for years, Jack Conte did a low budget version for his music video for Doin' it Right:
And to a lesser extent,
But I love the how they combined it with a giant motion control rig to pull some of that stuff off, really cool.
I would love to see it integrated into a full proper stage show. Although I'm curious how the effects translate to being there in person, since so many of them are reliant on the camera position to pull off the 3D effect (same concept as those 3D chalk drawings).
It's a really fancy game engine, off loading nearly all of the post work into pre production. PROGRESS!
No. No you really shouldn't have.
This is the same podcast that had a 5 minute run about a piece of shit having an existential crisis. It's a beautiful thing.
Peter Stormare as Satan (Constantine)- Best version of Satan ever.
Airport for Birds (and other great ideas).
A sketch comedy show by the incredible Starkid crew (A Very Potter Musical, Starship, Me and my Dick, Holy Musical B@tman, A Very Potter Sequel, A Very Potter Senior Year) put on at the UP Comedy Club (Second City) in chicago. Absolutely hilarious at every turn, just 80 minutes of pure glorious sketch comedy with a musical number every once and a while cause why the hell not by my favorite independent theater group. Seriously, go buy a copy and support Starkid, it's worth it.
For purchase here (DD or DVD): http://starkid.annarbortees.com/product … l-download
James Franco comes to mind. Not for all of his roles, but not for just one.
Oh gods, just make the bad people stop calling him Oz, I- OH- UGH-, it's literally physically painful. UUUUHAAAHGGGH.
When I google SLX RS-3, all I get is pictures of cars... and I don't think that's right.
Serenity 2...? Anyone?

Welcome!
I'm a big fan of MST3k and now Rifftrax and I've put together a couple of riffs myself as "Raven's Riffs" and it's a lot of work but a lot of fun. I guess that's my version of a fan film and I'll be happy to provide links to them if anyone is interested in checking them out.
Link that shit!! We have a creations forum for just such purposes!
...now that you mention, I'm seriously considering changing one of mine to Blomkamps Halo movie.
Coolio, I look forward to the stories.
If you're interested in doing some online stuff outside just survival stuff I could grab a list of some public games servers that are pretty freaking fun.
Hotlink doesn't work Eddie, but I can open it in a new window. Looks delish.
1) SMOKE & MIRRORS: A famous spec that featured a Steampunk TOny Stark-ish interpretation of famed Magician Houdin, who's hired by the French government to discredit an Arabic rebel leader who's convinced his army that he's a living deity. And that's just the first 20 pages.
2) ROUNDTABLE: Brian K Vaughn's outstanding script features a resurrected Morganna LeFey returning to terrorize modern day england. An immortal, World of Warcraft playing Merlin must assemble England's modern day Knights to confront her. Except England's modern day Knights are a Botanist, an alcoholic former Olympian, and Michael Caine, playing Michael Caine.
3) PREACHER. Garth Ennis dark comedy graphic novel series has been in development for years. Jesse Custer is a Texas Preacher undergoing a crisis of faith when he is merged with a powerful Angel/Demon hybrid. Now he has a new mission: Find God, and kill him.
These all sound AMAZING. Any links to scripts?
For all the bitching we get I'm kinda amazed how how many reboots/sequels are on this page.
Aaaaah, I remember those times...long long ago...gods I've been playing this game for a long time. Ah well.
Well, if you're really having that much trouble I'll tell you what I do when starting a new world, you can take it or leave it. Basically, there is almost nothing you NEED to go exploring for, pretty much everything you need to get going can be found under your house. The only things you really need to go exploring for are Villages, Temples and Strongholds. Villages aren't necessary, it's a nice perk to get the wheat right off the bat if you spawn in close to one, but you can get going without them, temples are just nice little surprises you can find along the way, again it's nice to get the loot if you spawn near one, but not necessary, and strongholds are basically and end game thing (Literally, they have the portal to the End)
So basically, I go exploring far enough to find an area I like, or if that's not a big deal to you, where ever you spawn. Get wood, get seeds, get dirt, kill food animals. Build yourself a dirt hut (or cobble if you've got it and seal yourself in. If you still have time in the day see if there's any surface coal nearby and grab it. Make torches and light your shit up. Then start digging down inside your hut. I usually do a staircase straight down to bedrock, and if I hit any caves on the way down, BONUS. Then with the iron and coal you get from that (or little bits of branch mining, cause sometimes the luck gods really screw you over on your first tunnel), make tools, armour, a bucket. Once you have a bucket get water and make a make a makeshift wheat farm outside your house. Then keep digging, caving and strip mining until you have enough stuff to survive. make sure you're below level 16 to find diamonds and lava (Surface lava notwithstanding). Then have at it. You can usually get enough diamonds this way to get yourself reasonably well set up. Or stick with iron, whatever works for you.
And from there you can do all the bed, and stuff you want. Get a nether portal, enchanting tables, potions etc etc.
If you are having THAT much trouble and frustration finding your places, just jot down the coords, saves SO MUCH headache.
Have you been to the nether yet in your own games?
If not, I reaaally want to see your reaction the first time you do
Hmm, well... let's see.
I'm going to assume this is in reference to adaptations of things (because if we're talking original works...Lily In The Wind Pt1, Lily In The Wind Pt2 and Lily In The Wind Pt3...but I don't think that's what we're going for)
I'll have to give some thought to this...
1) (If I get to make it, or it gets made by someone who gets it and can do it without studio fuckery) The Otherland Series By Tad Williams. Ever since I read it, I've wanted to see it on screen...but to do it properly would be like doing 4 Avatars on the scale of Lord Of Rings in a row...so yeah.
2)Lady Mechanika. A comic by Joe Benitez. Magic, steampunk and cyborg detective assassins, yah! Although I haven't actually had a chance to read through much of them, I had a friend in uni that LOVED them and showed me a bunch. And godammit, it's about time we had a movie that did true hardcore full to the hilt steampunk, and this one is already freaking gorgeous, if it could be translated to the screen with keeping the style intact, it would be amazing.
3)A proper (aka, not afraid of being as bat shit, full out, weird as it should be) version of the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy series.
That cathedral is impressive.
Thanks man!
I mean, how the hell do you have that many of those glowy light things all over the place? Don't you need a bunch of obsidian and some kind of extremely rare object to craft those things?
A) No, torches are just made with a stick and a piece of coal (or charcoal), unless you mean the actual redstone lamps (The glowy lamps that are a full cube), those take a few more supplies.
B) You've given me an idea, and I might just do this anyway. But would you be interested in a series dedicated to to walking through the super basics of Minecraft and how to survive your first couple days? Cause I would totally be down for doing one.
