Yours feel much more cliche "anime"-ish than the actual original drawings. I'm fairly certain it's the eyes. Yours are perfectly oval, whereas all of the original pokies are more of a flatbottomed egg shape.

But otherwise they're pretty damn close.

EDIT:...upon further looking....you didn't actually draw these... it's just some photoshop wizardry...soooo...just frack me then

to be fair, I can sorta see what he means when he says "real filmmaker" - although I'd include Nolan in that category even if White doesn't.

Ang Lee, Chis Nolan, Zack Snyder, Michel Gondry, Kenneth Branagh, Joss Whedon

And those are just the ones I noticed quickly scrolling through the list of superhero movies that came out since Burtons Batman...

I see you're using the school of douche definition of "real filmmaker".

Tell me about Superman, as if you had only seen this movie. Don't tell me what happened to Superman, tell me about him. Describe Superman as a person. Imagine you're setting me up on a date with him. Who is he?

He's intelligent, caring and has a deep connection to those closest to him (as evident by flipping shit when Zod showed up at the farm). Initially, he's a man conflicted about his identity. He wants to change and embrace who he really is but doesn't know if the world is ready to accept him. Eventually, he overcomes this internal dilemma and exposes himself to the world because it's more important for him to protect the innocent than protect himself.

I believe you just got told sir.

Without even watching the video I can tell you I love Regular ordinary Swedish Mealtime. Although I haven't watched them in a long while. I started watching them after there first or second episode somewhere around there.

Okay Teague seriously, you can't throw down shit like:

If it was only meant to be a cool painting, I'd dig it. They always cross the "cool painting" threshold. But the purpose of the movie poster is to sell the film and the attitude contained within it, and generally movie posters follow a particular style of layout. (Not particular layouts, a particular style of layout, philosophy of layout.) And Mondo posters, not to put too fine a point on it, rarely do.

Without giving at least one example of wtf you're talking about. (In reference to the bad poster design... you can show me good ones all day but I'll still have no clue why it's good)

EDIT: In answer to the question, I have thought so little about movie posters I honestly can't even think of one to call my favorite (outside of all the stereotypical Struzen stuff)...hence the above comment, you have me intrigued.

Y'know I keep hearing that argument: "well the story is told from Bilbo's perspective, so XYZ." I'll agree that the book certainly is that way. But the movie isn't Bilbo-centric. We have the same omniscient perspective that we had in LOTR. I'm getting really sick of hearing that reasoning because people are using it as a way to explain away everything that could be criticized about the films.

As I've said since the beginning, this is still middle earth, and just because the story you happen to be telling was a "childrens book" or Bilbo centric, that doesn't mean you get to completely change the dynamics of everything that makes middle earth, middle earth. It still has to feel like the same universe, even if it is summer now instead of winter (As far as general tone goes, Sauron=winter....whatever you get it). But they aren't even trying to do that here, they're just cranking the cartoon lever until it breaks.

I think a lot of it is that they're trying to make the colors in every shot look absolutely perfect and amazing.

IDk, I think it kinda feels like are trying to make every thing absolutely perfect and pristine on like...a pixel level, but no one ever steps back, looks at the whole image and goes...guys this looks like shit...you know that right?

So every frame just ends up being this collage of colour and motion that makes absolutely no sense when you're calling it a movie.

They're cartoony, there's zero practical effects, or any attempt to make them look like anything that could or would actually exsist, and just a general disregard for reality in general.

It reminds me of Oz the great and powerful or Burtons Alice In Wonderland, except instead of it trying to be a magic wonderland, it's supposed to be Middle Earth. Which is the same thing I've been saying since I saw  the first trailer for the Hobbit. It's not Middle Earth, and they're not even trying to pretend like it is... it's some other cartoon universe where gravity doesn't exsist and everyone walks around going mork mork mork.

It's kinda like they saw that shot of Legolas looping around the horse to get back on top from LOTR (The not very great one), and thought that they should do an entire movie (trilogy) in that style.

Even Smaug didn't do anything for me, he looks like a cardboard cut out of a dragon slapped on top of a frame from Fantasia.

And yes, I've officially given up on this series.

I'm in love. I'm in goddamned love and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Just a taste for now, I wanted to see what it looked like off the camera.

It looks pretty fucking good.

The setup:

Tamron SP 28-80mm F/3.5-4.2, adapted to Micro 4/3, attached to macro extension tube, attached to GH2.

Image is RAW straight off the camera.
