Heya. For my Communication Psychology class we had to do a project that explored one of the topic we would be covering in the class. We picked symbols/signs and did a short film called Chroma, in which color is applied in different ways to explore color as a symbol for emotions (sound plays a part in it as well).

It's the first project I actually directed, which was cool. I also DPed and acted (I'm the sad dude) and I did the entirety of the editing process. I didn't have the chance to do a proper foley track because we were under a very tight schedule, so I ended up using what I could from the sound we recorded from the camera, and then cleaning up where I could. Also, our camera op decided we didn't have to shoot in 4K even though the camera had that option available, so we ended up shooting the thing in 720p, which is kind of a bummer, but hey, it's manageable.

As a final note, we did shoot some stuff with a drone, which was fun. ANYWAY film:

Read this after you're done: The text message says something along the lines of "I'm sorry, John, I can't take this anymore, we're done", and the argument between the brother and the female voice is her complaining that he hasn't been paying rent and him saying he'll get the money.

Let me know what you think smile

Oooh, yeah, that game. I can't wait till I get my hands on it, that's definitely on my must play games list. I've generally been really excited at the stuff Nintendo's been putting on their consoles, lately. When I saw the first trailer I thought it would have something to do with Super Mario Sunshine cause it was so similar in some ways.

If we're talking about games as an artform, then Ori is definitely one of the greats. That being said, it is also one of the greats in just about everything else.

Also, if you guys are into cool neo-war but also weird and creepy but fantasy-ish stuff, you should definitely play Metro: Last Light. There's a new version that's prettier and with some new stuff on Steam, and it includes the original game, too, Metro 2033!

Pretty much everyone I know is going mad over the Witcher and I don't even know what it's about, but it looks pretty dang cool.

In regards to mobile stuff, I think the 3DS is probably the best portable gaming device you can get right now. For one, the compatibility with a bunch of older stuff, and it's actually got some really good titles on it. Then again, I've almost always been into Nintendo stuff (after I stopped being a SEGA fanboy), so yeah.

As for what I've been playing. Well, not really 'lately' as I always play that game nonstop like every other day, but I've been playing Age of Empires II. The fact that it's on Steam means you can get the expansion with a bunch of fixes and changes and even more civs (yes, with new pixel art as well), which is very nice. I'm pretty big into indie games, as well, but the best ones haven't gotten any recent updates. Aside from Project Zomboid, which is getting a new one in a few days.

The most recent release I've played was Ori and the Blind Forest, and I'm pretty sure it's one of the best games ever made. It's definitely the most fun platformer I've ever played, and all of the nifty mechanics it incorporates so that it's much more dynamic than a standart 2D sidescroller definitely pay off, and are definitely super fun. Great visuals, great sound and music, story is simple but nice. Gameplay is fantastic.

Oh, and before Ori, I played through Dying Light. Anyone played that? Gameplay was super interesting, and the main plot was good, even if at points the game was pretty bland. I just liked the fact that they added a different flavor to the whole Zombie thing.

That being said, League of Legends is also a thing, and it's got the whole competitive aspect of it, which is rather nice. eSports, yo.

Hello, everyone! I made a member account in these lovely forums a long long time ago but never really knew what to say or how to involve in cool discussions going on, so I eventually phased out, while still actively listening to the show.

However, this is a place where a lot of the discussion actually speaks to me and seems like a really nice corner of the internet to be in. I've been around since late Geekza days, with the show already being based in LA, I believe, and I had some cool times in the chatroom back then as well.

Me, my name is Filipe, 21 years old. I'm from Portugal, currently in the Portuguese equivalent of a film school - it's also mixed with different arts stuff, a big generalist chunk of classes, and a bunch of more specific cool stuff. Aside from having a big interest in movies ever since a small kid, I've also grown up learning musical instruments, languages and a bunch of other stuff, so now I do a little bit of motion graphics stuff, I compose music and regularly play guitar and flute, and am doing a bunch of more filmy stuff mainly due to my college degree. Also, video games.

Not sure I have much more to say here, but it's nice to be around here, and hopefully I manage to fit in and be a part of some of the discussion threads you guys got here.

So yeah, hi!

It's Matt that's been doing the PAL conversions? Spot on, man, thanks a lot.
The little 'nother year montage was also pretty damn awesome, Ryan.
Happy Birthday, DIF!

I have the SW episodes, JP, Up and AVATAR on my phone. Repeated times I've listened to them.
I have two favorites - TPM, because the whole conversation is so hilarious ("But will you power your air-craft carrier?", the whole shield generator thing, "operation Gungan shield", among other things) and Star Wars, because it is, again, really funny and you guys share a pretty big amount of info with us. Also, that "and I am your father" by Trey at the end kills me.
