Re: Suggest a movie!
Scotland is foreign, how about.......Ummmmm.....never mind.....
(I know there have been some Scottish films, I just wanted to make that joke
)
Local Hero!
I'd really like hear what Eddie and Michael would have to say about that.

It's a good one, certainly. And Gregory's Girl, Comfort and Joy, The Debt Collector, Restless Natives, Shallow Grave and Tainspotting (although I think Trainspotting is overrated, many like it).
And The Big Man (Crossing The Line in the US) starring Liam Neeson and Billy Connolly was filmed in a small town called Coalburn which is near my hometown.

In my first DIF post, I asked then to do a commentary on The Descent. Then I found out that it was not a movie that The Boys liked. I was kind of embarrassed to have suggested it, but I am doing it again. The monster parts are stupid, but the parts about behind trapped underground are so frightening on a primal level... I want to know what Trey can tell me about claustrophobia, and how they shot it.

Good on you for pushing forward
I've never seen it, so I have no opinion!
I'll check it out next chance I have, though - I think I've seen that DVD lying around the house.
Me, I liked Descent. Good example of cheap, clever moviemaking.
I once got stuck in two different tight spots in one spelunking trip myself, and as a result a couple of moments in Descent freak me the hell out.
Side note: When I got stuck, I immediately started thinking of Floyd Collins and almost made myself lose it. Yeesh.
O.O
Thanks, now I'm gonna try to sleep.
I just watched Paranorman, and oh my god you guys have GOT to do Paranorman. It's freaking amazing.
I loved Paranorman.
It's the only movie I've seen where I thought the 3d actually improved the film. (Don't kill me please)
Now that it's out on Blu-Ray/DVD, I 'm hoping for The Dark Knight Rises from The DIF crew. I'm curious how you all felt about it. I felt that emotionally, the film ends well; but there are so many leaps in logic throughout the movie. I'd guess that Eddie would take issue with the fact that Bruce Wayne/Batman does not act like he is in the comic. I kinda did a little bit.
Also the ending ripped straight from Iron Giant.....

I don't know if I want a TDKR commentary. I'd probably end up shouting at the screen everytime I'd have a different opinion, which I suspect would occur every 3 minutes
It's okay to not agree with the DIF guys. Trey has said something to that effect on several occasions. I've always felt that listening to people whom you don't necessarily agree with is the best way to see how strong your views and opinions are.
I'd very much like to hear all 3 nolan Batmen. I'm in that tiny camp of people that prefer BB to TDK, and that didn't even get that much from TDKR. I mean, it's not bad, it's just not all it's hyped up to be.
Are you guys ever gonna do another traditionally animated feature? I'd love to hear your comments on Beauty and the Beast or The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Also, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban would be great.
Oh, god. I'd love to do more animated movies. But if we did a Menken/Ashman Disney flick, we all know how insufferable I'd be.

Oh, I can take you being insufferable, as long as Dorkman still gets a chance to talk at some point.

Holy shit yes!
I've never seen Road to El Dorado - I should probably a) correct that mistake and b) not admit it out loud.
I have always though the blonde guy is very weirdly designed. He doesn't really look.....right......can't quite put my finger on it but he looks odd to me.
Don't see this as me hating the film though! I don't! Honest!
I think my brain is just wired in this weird way where I specifically can't enjoy animated Disney files. Every single one I've tried to watch I mostly can't stand, except for maybe Aladdin. I'm certain it's me and not the movies, but I just cannot get past the kidiness and the songs. Not a new thing either, even as a 5 year old I'd prefer Alien/Predator or something to disney. I love Looney Tunes though, so it really is this weirdly specific thing. I suspect it's because Looney Tunes is more willing to play darker and more cynical, but I can't really articulate the difference.
