Re: Release, Record: 11/9

If I could make a mild suggestion, could you guys post what will be released ahead of time like you use to? When you know it, naturally. I've noticed a number of recent episodes have been released without enhancement so it may be there's lots of last minute substitutions, but I reduced my Netflix to one disk at a time so knowing what to have in the queue when is very important smile

Well, today it'll be Wanted and next week it will be Harry Potter 1.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

There is no DiF this weekend, right?
I thought I remembered Teague saying something to that effect during the show last week, but it might have been an alcohol induced delusion.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

They said there wouldn't be one due to this 'Carmageddon' thing. That and the fact that there is no mention of any film being recorded this week on the front of this thread or near the top of the page, I think it's safe to assume that there won't be one this week smile

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

This is correct. I might have something nifty to toss up as a supplement, though. (And we're releasing HP tomorrow, too.)

You've piqued my interest Mr chrystie, what's this suppliment if which you speak?

$5 it's Spirulina or something equivalently vile. Or off topic goodies. You know: six of one, half-dozen of another.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Well Carmageddon turned out to be nothing.  I could have/should have told you guys that days ago, then we'd have a teh recording. smile

Seriously, I knew nothing bad was going to happen.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Carmageddon have been a thing if people hadn't heeded the warnings and stayed home?

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

That's my take on it too, Greg.

Also, I don't grudge the guys taking a week off, they don't owe us anything. If they felt that it was best not to do a recording this week then that's up to them smile

The Body Snatchers commentary has made me highly suspicious of these little "breaks". WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY COULD BE UP TO.

Re: Release, Record: 11/9

I wasn't demanding they do a recording.  It's their lives and they can choose to record or have the time to themselves.

But no, I don't think it would have been a thing.  Fun fact: urban freeways are the cause of traffic problems, not the solution.  There's a fascinating scientific explanation of how they create congestion rather than reduce it.

But given that this section of highway is a connector, a link between two urban places, the expansion is necessary, since there really aren't other options for those going between the L.A. basin and the Valley.

I love that we need science to explain that people driving cars cause congestion.

I hear California also has too many hot, sexy women. I think Indiana can solve both those problems at one go.

Also interested in discussing a snow-for-sunshine exchange.

No, apparently this article says that roads cause congestion. Which seems to me like an argument that banks cause robberies.

Even more science! It's as if having blood vessels were the main cause of stroke.

To be fair I didn't read the article, I was at work and didn't want to appear to be wasting time. Reading a piece on traffic congestion. From a message board. About film.

Hmm.

An attempt to drain the great lakes of water to send elsewhere was recently defeated. Those of you who actually want to drink and grow things will be forced in the near future to move back to the "Rust Belt", which I think we'll rename "The only place with fresh water". Thus, the women will come to us smile
