Ooooh, I have things to add to this thread. Need to make my camera work first.
Also, nice balls.
Brand new Sony Alpha 99, thirty-year-old Minolta lenses from eBay.
No longer shooting HDV.
I just ordered this from Amazon.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shef-Precision- … ef+measure
It shows volumes in cups, milliliters and ounces, and also displays weights in grams and pounds.
I'm finally done banging my head against the wall each time I need to translate cups and ounces and pounds and stuff into the consistent metric system when using american recipes. For the life of me, I can't figure out how you guys still haven't blown up due to imperial units.

"Oh, my render is - I'm not rendering anything." "Render's done!"
I love how compactly that thing folds up, blows my mind. I've used a jib once or twice but it is not portable at all.
Just found a bunch of this at the beer store in the town where I grew up in New York. It's impossible to find in Los Angeles. It's brewed in San Francisco.
Fucking late capitalism.

Yeah, the compactness was basically what sold me on it. I can literally throw it in a backpack, and barely feel the weight. Once I figure out the couple of small stability niggles I mentioned it should be great.
I already figured out the tripod screw one. There's actually two 1/4" camera screw holes on either side of the 3/8" tripod screw, and I discovered my tripod actually came with an extra camera screw, so I've just got both of those in there, seems to be much more sturdy, I'll have to actually put the whole system together to be sure tho.
All in all, very pleased so far.
My brand new Røde NT1-A. It's a fucking beast.
I also got a Røde Videomic Rycote, if it's at all relevant.
Been enjoying these VSonic GR07 Classic Ed. IEMs for 3-ish months, and just recently got a maroon-colored 2nd pair as a backup. Sonically they're crisply textured and beautifully balanced, 100$ from lendmeurears.com with free worldwide shipping. I've got a pair of full-size $300+ Beyerdynamic DT880s for my desk, and the GR07s are a great complement to them, which is saying alot.
I got new keys.
Oh, also the house to go with them.

Cheeky bugger.
Congrats!
I bought some keys and a house came with it. Most expensive set of keys ever.
And this is how bad (or how good) my mind is. I first read the keys as "MinEcraft" and wanted to ask if you built yourself
My dad read the same thing. He doesn't even play Minecraft ...to my knowledge, anyway).
Nice! I was a homeowner once. Then the market took a crap and I remembered I lived in Los Angeles.
Got my latest shipment of gear!
Zoom H5, an 11inch arm from Cowboy studio (with a mini super-clamp), and a large super clamp from manfrotto. Also (not pictured) a fuck-off-sized roll of gaffer tape.
Dutifully working together in harmony here...although not that I'd actually ever use any of these like this... call it artistic licence.
I like getting new gear...
Ooooooooh.
Ooooooooh.
Seriously, BDA, some sweet looking gear you got. Looks like fun
Thought you'd appreciate the easter egg Teague
And I'm finally starting to feel kinda legit about this whole thing, funny how having some decent gear'll do that for ya.
13 miles from Melbourne's CBD by road, could be worse.
