Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?
For the record, I'm all for a female Doctor, a black Doctor, an older Doctor, and an orangutan Doctor, in that order.
That should take us to about 2024.

What about a Jar-Jar Doctor...?
*ducks*
I vaguely remember hearing someone say that they wouldn't do a gender swap because they didn't want to have to try and explain that to children. It is technically a kid's show.

Yeah, I show my children "Blink" or "The Empty Child" right before bed every night...
No wonder I'm so sleep deprived
I think, for a start, a black doctor would be great. I'm also curious how they will deal with the thirteen regeneration limit previously established.
Why not an east Indian Doctor? Or a Māori Doctor? A Brazilian Doctor?

This is true, it is a show that has a huge child audience so I can see the dilemma.

Not many actors like that in the UK, sadly.

Temuera Morrison. Yes, I am serious on this.
Also, we can compromise. The new Doctor can just wear an "All Blacks" jersey as a new outfit.

Let's not go nuts. Let's have an orangutan Doctor first. Then we'll talk about your crazy ideas.

Two companions and One Doctor had been on the show before getting cast.
Really? Colin Baker's going to be your argument?
And on the companion side, it's taking me a minute to think. You mean Lalla Ward and Freema Agyeman?

It would be three Companions then as Karen Gillan guested before she was cast too.
And, Faldor, guest appearances in one episode is slightly different from a semi-regular cast member becoming the Doctor

So, a female, black, old orangutan? I'd rather just stick to a good ol' penguin.

So your ruling out Peter Capaldi cos of his Torchwood stint?
No, I'm ruling out Capaldi because he's a regular on the upcoming Musketeers show that shoots in Europe and would take up a lot of his time.
It's what, one hour or so to the announcement, let's just wait it out and stop speculating.
Does anybody know if this will be live on the internet? It's not on the one BBC channel we get in Norway; BBC HD.

To be fair, nobody had posted about it here for about five hours.

You can stream it live on iPlayer, but obviously that's region locked. But I'm sure you can find your way around that or manage to get hold of a less legitimate stream.
So, the bookies were actually right for once!
Interesting choice. Never saw much of him, and I believe I'll keep myself unspoiled until Christmas.
Capaldi is an old hand at that time travelling business...

Because I don't think there is any way the BBC will say: "well, he's only allowed thirteen incarnations, and
