Okay, having grown up in the 1970s, I was too old for whole Power Rangers thing. So my question is this: are you people serious? Honestly, that show was a ridiculously lame repackaging of a Japanese TV show, with rubber monster suits and terrible acting. Is this stuff for real? Because I'd really like for everyone to stop.
My generation doesn't act like Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and Hong Kong Phooey need gritty, action-packed reboots.
Now, Jonny Quest.... there's a property that needs a $200 million live action movie.....

Oh, FUCK yes! A live action Jonny Quest would be epic! If they would lay off the casual racism, obviously.
Warner Bros who own all the rights to Hanna-Barbera properties need to take slightly bigger risks. Something like Hong Kong Phooey would benefit better as a fully CG animated movie. And how about Wacky Races? Sure, it would be a stretch to make a movie out of it but I think Dastardly and Muttley if done right would be great big screen characters. A lot of people write off H-B shows and while I fully admit that they repeated themselves a lot , I still love them and I think they have some great shows that would make great animated movies.
Oh, and I was born in '76, I don't get the Power Rangers thing either

Power Rangers was great for kids growing up in the 90s. I still enjoyed JQ, and the CG-matrix-esque version of it, too.

I grew up with the 90's and the Power Rangers, and I can honestly say that a gritty reboot would just be interesting to see. I mean, take away the need to rely upon footage from the Japanese show and just build from the ground up. It honestly is a stereotypical hero's journey story, with archetypal characters, a wizard and a witch.
So, if they could break away from the source material a little, and redo it, it could be good.
