I was about to vote in the DIF Ocars when I realised that I haven't actually seen any of the films nominated for Best Picture

Day-Lewis, Waltz and Hathaway are all locks. The rest are up in the air. I'm rooting for Argo.

Hey, Norbit got a Best Makeup nomination. Anything can happen.

What are the chances they overlook Roger Deakins yet again?

Beats me - other than Jennifer Lawrence's performance, I don't see what's so great about Silver Linings Playbook in general.

Anyway, the point is that Oscar nominations aren't physics, they're just people voting on stuff.  In the end it mostly comes down to timing, politics, and luck.

This is ace, Holden. Will the winner be highlighted as well?

I lied. I should be able to update it pretty quickly after the award.

That Brave won best animated feature sums up the entire Oscar experience.

It's exactly the kind of movie that I would usually hate, and I thought it was amazing.
