I dislike him. Not really a huge fan of most comic actors these days or modern comedy films.

Yeah, not much to add, really.

Personally I'd say casting Paul Rudd was a problem, seems like a comedy film more than anything. However, Disney signed off on Rudd as the star so it clearly wasn't that.

Also, Disney clearly know what they are doing. They are all about taking risks with directors (the two guys who made Captain America 2 were sitcom directors, for crying out loud) so if they wanted to re-write the script (as rumoured HERE) then they had a reason. Like them or not, the Marvel films have been successful and I think most of them are really good fun so if they felt that this was the way forward, then who am I to argue? As alluded to earlier, Ant Man was dead to me as soon as they cast Paul Rudd anyway.

I liked it too, fridge logic didn't bother me, I must have not been paying attention. Although Kitty had a new power that she didn't have in previous films, that annoyed me.

Hasn't Faldor just broken the rule of the reviews section with just a 'Was good, now go' post? tongue

He either said the stuff about Sofa Dogs because he a) just happens to have a differing opinion on the things you cover, it is good to have friends like that, sometimes but not if they are going to be dicks about it or b) is a total complete and utter shit-stirring cockbag who is just trying to get a rise out of you because he has nothing better to do in his sad pathetic life. Or c) is jealous and is still such a child that this is the only way he can express it.

She is good in Continuum and in season 6 of Criminal Minds so I assume it must be the material.

Rachel Nichols used a body double for the sex scene, which suggests that she was hired solely for her acting skills. WTF? Did nobody realize that Rachel is no Jodie Foster? We live in truly dark times...

Rachel Nichols is actually a solid actress but this role just wasn't right for her and Nispel can't direct actors for shit. The whole body double thing confuses me, what is the point? If they knew their lead actress has a no-nudity clause, then why even bother filming the scene the way they did? Did they think we really just had to see the character's breasts, no matter what? Pointless.

I don't usually re-watch films I didn't like or thought were 'meh' but it has happened a few times. Here are two examples-

Star Trek Into Darkness didn't make me want to claw my own eyes out on second viewing, so there's that. The Tintin movie was just 'ok' the first time I saw it but I thought it was bloody good fun the second time and have watched it a third and still enjoyed the heck out of it.

Can we remember that most HB cartoons were not that good, and in no way can sustain a half hour story let alone a full movie?

No.

Said it before and I'll say it again, Warner Bros need to take a punt and produce a full length animated Hanna-Barbera cartoon again. Something that isn't a known money maker (so no Scooby Doo). An all-action Jonny Quest movie could be pretty darn awesome. This live action stuff with CG H-B characters just doesn't work. The voice casting on Yogi Bear was good, though, who knew Justin Timberlake did a great Boo-Boo impression?

(the awful Top Cat movie doesn't count as that was produced by a Mexican animation company who had the rights and something was clearly lost in translation)

All these descriptions of episodes of Tokes and Stokes makes me realise that ABC had gotten worse over the years. Bring back this classic show, Disney! Take a risk!

This was awesome and that score was perfect.

A line would have been nice. Annoying or not, he was one of the bad guys and he gets to walk free. Maybe he was a casualty of the re-filmed ending but it's still pretty sloppy.

And he vanishes about half-way through without mention, if I recall correctly. That sort of thing pisses me off, especially considering he was all henchman-like until then.

I love Labyrinth. Call it nostalgia all you want (because it is) but I honestly adore it. I love most of the songs and not ironically either. Henson could do no wrong as far as I was concerned.

Apart from Dark Crystal. That was a mess. big_smile

I gotta ask - have you seen The Gamers (or either of its two sequels, Dorkness Rising and Hands of Fate)? The first is really low budget (we're talking indie crew still bootstrapping themselves up), the second got the official D&D license, and the third is actually about CCGs but follows the same characters. Really good stuff.

I have not, I am not really a D&D fan, never played it smile
