We're not even on the normal Wikipedia. A whole DIF Wiki seems greedy.  hmm

I really liked this movie. Like, solidly enjoyed, the whole way through. I'd say it's a return to form for Zemeckis, but this movie doesn't really resemble anything else of his that I've seen - perhaps Cast Away, a bit, in terms of how minimalist the proceedings are. But very powerful, very good, had a great time watching it unfold.

Anyone else?

When it comes to portraying addiction onscreen, there's a line between unflinching and gratuitous that you don't want to cross, and I'm not sure where this one landed. I could absolutely understand opinions that the addiction stuff came off as cloying, but it worked for me.

I generally like your taste. Good man.

Also, glad you piped up! Nice to hear that people actually see that LCC stuff.  smile

I don't even.

The book really is fascinating, little character stories, "best-of" moments from around the world in a zombie apocalypse, geopolitics, the lot of it. It's an anthology more than anything, it's a collection of vignettes about different people in different cultures reacting to the same thing worldwide.

And this appears to be 28 Days Later, with Brad Pitt.

Generally, I'm glad it's going this way. This means they can actually adapt the book one of these days and still make the movie about it, it's not gonna feel like a needless reboot, it'll feel like a different movie. I mean, shit, the title was used, but that's about it from the looks of it.

So setting aside all of that - I'm actually pretty down with this trailer, I'm definitely interested to see the movie. Maybe not in theaters, but certainly sooner or later.

I know a couple of music-buffs (like, Berklee students) who are super into Toto.

Who knew.

I'm with you on The Black Parade, certainly.

How any band responsible for this song can remain unpopular boggles my mind. Liza Minelli is on this track. She's popular, right?!

How about you?

Here's Patton Oswalt on Jerry Maguire.

Finished Reamde last week, reading the Chronoliths now.

Recommend both.

Wiki the 1984 Presidential Election, if you're interested to see an entirely red map. Mondale carried exactly one state in that election, Minnesota.

Oh, I mean, like, advice. I don't actually know much about the usual registration.

But if you make it out here, make your presence known so we can meet up somewhere or another. And book your hotel the second you know you're going.  smile

Are you in the film or game industry? Like, at all? It's pretty straightforward to get a pro badge for free if you have a few credits on IMDb.

Otherwise, I actually can't help ya too much, I've been on Comic Con welfare for the past seven years. (That is to say, riding the free pro badge thing each year.)

I actually went to the trouble of screencapping the whole process of making this abortion, if anyone is curious to see a time lapse.

Meanwhile, Jek Solo is in a brawl with a few local toughs at a spaceport near the spice mines. Searching out with his feelings led him to the relatively distant system of Kessel, where apparently nobody wants to hear about Jedi (or "stretching out with your feelings" for God's sake) and has attracted all the wrong kind of attention from the folks thereabouts.

When the fisticuffs spill over into a loading bay where Quin Nickel is selling off the remnants of his last haul, Quin takes action to keep things from tarnishing his wares. Upon meeting Jek, Quin is shocked at this second stroke of luck for him, and tells Jek that he might just be able to help him find what he's looking for...

Great review, man.

Do you think this is the sort of thing we could do a commentary for? Would it basically be an unrelated three hour conversation?
