Having DM'd several multi-year long RPG campaigns, the number of harmless background details and ass pulled events when something interesting needed to happen that later were retconned into having greater meaning is roughly equal to the number of things that had long term meaning from the second they appeared. What I've learned is, as long as it's done well, it doesn't matter. Your players/readers will enjoy it either way and, frankly, they never have to know which are which.

Of all things from TFN to bring back, IFOTOS isn't that bad. We could be posting tons of photoshopped images of Vaportrail because he happened to take a picture of himself in front of a green wall. Would you rather have that?

Which, of course, is why it's so hard to find. It's the best fanfilm ever, but they refused to dilute the quality to reduce the file size, and thus few people could host it and almost no one saved a copy because it took up so much space.
