You really have to try if you want to see deer in France. Deep in the forest, that sort of thing.
Not sure this video was made in France, though. This guy goes trekking for weeks deep in Siberia only to spot muskoxen.

Holy shit. That was cool as fuck.
I stand corrected.
Vincent Munier is a well-known French nature and wildlife photographer. His latest video is all about deer. Amazing shots, tremendous photographic work and impressive sound capture.
PS: use a headset.
In the books, Davos' POV chapters help a lot to sympathize with Stannis. The Onion Knight truly loves him.
Gotta agree with that last post, BDA.
(I still enjoyed the episode though, you maple syrup pancake eating moose)
Well... I really, really enjoyed this episode.
Yes, on one hand there are some stupid bits (the golden arrow at the end... really?), yes, the sonic screwdriver is used in ways it shouldn't be (but then, as said before, that sin has been committed for the first time a long time ago), etc.
Now, on the other hand:
- great directing. The episode uses more wide-angle lenses and exaggerated high and low-angle shots than I have ever seen in DW, with some strong lighting choices. Seriously, it could have been directed by Peter Jackson and I wouldn't have been surprised. It might seem a bit goofy at times, but at least it gave some amazing dynamics to it. Great production, too.
- great dialogues. Some very energetic moments between Robin Hood and the Doctor. Capaldi nails it completely, I absolutely loved him - and Clara actually had a strong personality. It's the first time I found her really useful and likable as a companion. The supporting actors are all really good, too (the villain was the classic type of villain cool).
So yes, there were some stupid things in there, but I'd take this episode over the two previous ones any day. Despite the lack of strong hints at the series' arc, this is the kind of DW episodes I can really get behind.
You did not do that in 8 hours. You did?
A former student at my school made this. It's pretty cool (and slightly weird).
Loving the choice of format.
Scientific experiment : does every cat react the same way to an open box, no matter how small the latter may be?
Yup.
Oh, you want to have a Photoshop contest, is that the way of it? I'm not impressed, mister. Here's what I made yesterday:
Crawl updated - brought it down by 13". The rest is kept faithful to the original, but it can also be sped up if needed.
It's not in sync with the original theme anymore, however, but I'm not even sure Zarban was going to use it anyway (copyright and stuff). Maybe Trey can lend you the Pink Five theme?
I like that idea.
Ditto.
Opening crawl update:
Good news! Everything's still there, and in 1080p. I took Owen's text (with suggested corrections) for the crawl and Bathilda's Terragen thingy and here's what it looks like (with music and stuff!):
EDIT: Youtube added a white overlay to it. Dunno why. It's not on the original file.
EDIT2: Maybe it's just me. My PC is being wobbly.
Late to the party, but I still have the AE project for the opening crawl I made for my Lego SW short film from a few years ago, with the pan down and everything. Owen and Bathilda seem to be doing just fine, but you never know. Catastrophes happen. Also Owen's twelve.
I remember spending a ridiculous amount of time making everything as close as possible to the original opening crawl, so there's that. The stars, planet and moon are a single PSD file (meaning you can change stuff if you like, but if you want to use the original material, go ahead).
First I need to check that everything's still there (it should), though I won't be able to do it until Friday morning. But if by then you guys are still interested, let me know.
PS: Not sure what resolution the AE project is in, but it should be at the very least 720p.
Thing is, it was discovered a few days ago that comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko is actually made up of two (maybe even three) nuclei, making the landing of the probe a harder task. Exciting, though.
Working with Source Filmmaker?
And have Dave provide the droid's voice with his best australian accent.
Alternative: Jimmy. Obviously.
GODDAMMIT DAVE DON'T DO THIS TO ME
I've been psyched for this film for as long as I've known about it. Garden State was amazing and Zach Braff is my personal God.
And it's only coming to France in a month.
Glad to know you loved it, though.
Finally started watching it. I'm dying. This is pure gold.
Well, it's that time of the year again. The jury took place two weeks ago, and among the usual guests (MPC, Framestore, The Mill, etc. - all the big ones, really), a new one came to visit us this year. Its name? Industrial Light & Magic, baby. There is a good chance a few from this year's graduation are going to work on Episode VII.
Anyhoo, here are my picks this year.
Revolucion
South America
Between duty and truth....
The first steps of a young reporter.
One of the few films coming out of this school that are actually thought-provoking. The VFX work is practically flawless.
Engrenage (Gears)
In this race to survive, can you distinguish reality from imagination?
A well-edited, riveting film. I especially loved the atmosphere, and there is some amazing environment work in it.
Speedbob
In the farthest corner of space....
The story of a crazed oil farmer: SPEEDBOB
I think the thumbnail speaks for itself. This one is pure fun, and smells of oil, beer and banjos.
If you like them, please feel free to share around. Any help to increase their visibility is welcome.
Next year's my turn. I'm thrilled.
Darn, okay, I'm in.
My name is: Sébastien Fraud
My email address is: fraud.sebastien@gmail.com
My level of expertise is: somewhat extensive compositing knowledge ;
My software (and version) of choice is: Nuke 8 for compositing, and Adobe CS6 for the rest (mainly Photoshop and Premiere)
FX techniques, pertaining-to-this, that I already know how to do are: 2D/3D tracking - keying - restore - roto - general compositing stuff; 3D modeling, texturing, basics in lighting and rendering.
FX I'd like to learn, and maybe this could be my chance, are: I'm a compositing nerd. Gimme more of it, and I'll be happy.
My availability is: on vacation; I'll be available for the next three weeks and the two first weeks of August. My Internet bandwidth won't be the best, but I can manage.
I'd show you my compositing work, but my demo reel is restricted to my school for the moment.
This. This is why Spongebob Squarepants is so great.
You guys are so darn stupid. I love you.
Oh, so it's kind of an Oblivion, but better and fun. I could be interested.
