My understanding is that rather than do a lot of expensive reshoots to put Channing Tatum in the latter part of the movie, they just shot scenes where characters remembered him, then inserted shots of him from Magic Mike.

Everybody wins.

I hope someone shot some behind-the-scenes, making-of footage while all this was going down.

Oh YEAH! It would be like the end of a Jackie Chan movie! Eddie getting hit in the head with a ladder.... Brian taking a trash can lid to the face.... Teague falling off of a motorcycle.... That would be awesome.

Sure thing. I just listened to it without the music and GarageBand's 'Male Rock Vocals' setting...it's horrible  tongue.

Pretty cool. I think it's all left channel, tho, so that needs to be balanced. A little Autotune wouldn't hurt none.

I FOUND "BEANSTALK"!!

You do five Intermissions in a row and then offer a list of 200 movies you MIGHT do?

If that's an example of the artistic ability of the VFX guy who created it, I think I've found his problem.

This is all great advice. Thanks, everybody.

I actually carry a Garmin navigator everywhere because I travel so much. It's better than phones and I don't want to rely on one device (and its one battery) for everything.

I don't have a smart phone, but that's probably in the near future as well. My current phone is more than 4 years old.

So, I'll get the iPad 4, and I've added an Eye Fi card to my order. My questions now are around the cover or case and other accessories. Do iPeople say "Oh, you just have to get the Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads to go with that. You can't live without them." Or what?

I know it says Van Halen but it's a handwritten label and it's not an actual Van Halen song that plays, just a Van Halen-esque riff.   And Marty certainly plays like Van Halen... so I dunno.

I guess I always assumed it was a little clip from "Eruption" or "Atomic Punk". According to TMZ, it actually is Eddie Van Halen just messing around. In universe, tho, it might be Marty emulating Eddie to demo to other musicians at school.

I have an Amazon Associate account too, and there are all kinds of rules about when you get credit and when not, and I may not have done it right to give DIF credit, but I can't see a reason why they would accuse you of using it yourself.

But let's not derail the discussion here. I'm losing my virginity.

I've heard the mini is actually more convenient, and I might actually buy one of those too because I'm thinking of getting an iPad for my mother anyway.

I plan to use the iPad for entertainment when I fly, which is very frequently, and for showing off photos that I just took with my camera at family gatherings. I'm constantly taking pictures and then having to pass the camera around, so I'd rather swap SD cards and keep shooting while the subjects are looking at the photos on the tablet. Ideally, there would be some wireless card thing that automatically transfers the photos as I take them.

And maybe doing lines of cocaine. Also, is it any good as a bludgeoning weapon?

What? This is how Amazon Associate links are supposed to be used. You're not supposed to use your OWN link; that's just giving yourself a discount.

That's amazing. Have you done any other movies? It would be great to compare BTTF to weaker films to see the difference.

Okay, I'm ready to buy an iPad. What advice do you have for me? I've never owned an Apple product, but I use iTunes.

I'm thinking of getting the 32 GB iPad 4 and getting an Apple Smart Cover and iBlason back cover and a Sharkk lightning adapter for USB, SD, and mini-SD. I find it strange that there's apparently no cover that attaches to the lightning port and has an SD adapter built-in, because I plan to use that a lot to allow family to view photos I've just taken.

And I'm buying it with the Down in Front Amazon link, which I'm going to use regularly now, because I love Down in Front.

Since all the toys freeze every time a human comes around, it's safe to assume that it's an involuntary reflex. And since Buzz ignores all evidence that he's a toy, he doesn't acknowledge that either.

As I've said before, the fact that the planes in Die Hard 2 don't follow protocol—and common sense—and just land at any of the several other airports in the area is probably the biggest plot hole ever.

Lucas below Spielberg? Guest in the "popcorn" section? Coen Brothers below Tarantino and Wes Anderson? The Wachowskis below anyone but Bay? Two entries for Gondry? No attempt at placing Wyler, Wilder, Curtiz, Whale, and other classic directors?

That chart seems to mix up depth and nonsense. Some things aren't accessible because they're bullshit. Other things ARE accessible and still profound. If you get to the end of pretty much any Steven Spielberg movie and you haven't learned something that makes you a better person, you haven't been paying attention.

If you like the painterly look of the DAP Test but want more detail, you could put cartoon on top of DAP Test as a layer and reduce it to 40-50% opacity. Pretty cool.

When I was a sophomore, I planned to go to Swarthmore.

Long story short: I founded The Mamas and the Papas instead.
