For anybody unaware, we're gonna be recording a podcast about Doctor Who later on. Check the community podcast thread if you wanna join in or just listen live (if that works).

This season? Define THIS SEASON.
ENOUGH WITH THAT DAMN RIVER SONG ALREADY!
In short: not the weakest season yet(season 6, sans The Doctor's Wife) was horrible, but they've got a lot to do to make it good.
Also, fire Smith.
Wow, how many ways can I possibly disagree with you?
* I rather take one Moffat script than five Russel T Davis ones
* I find Tennant grossly overrated - I much preffer Smith.
* River Song is probably the awesomest thing that has happened in Who-dom. Not only is Alex Kingston cool, the whole wibbly-wobblyness of heir intertwination w. the Doctor is Awesome (tho I agree that the start of "Lets Kill Hitler" glossed over WAY too many stages of her development, that was half a season of potential Awesome turned into a montage of bizarre madness)
* I can barely stand Rose. Unfortunately she'll be in the anniversary episode. Just HOPE we don't get Mickey or Rose's horrendous Mother!

For me, series 4 and its two finales (The stolen planet 'trilogy' and the End of Time) is in my humble opinion the best the show's ever been. Granted, you can't start there and get anything, since it's all a collection of all that has lead up to it, and series 5 is pretty much a reboot, but I'd take Eccleston and Tennant any day over Smith.
Still not saying I don't like Smith, I just don't like his interpretation of the Doctor.
*Moffat knows very well how to write two-parters. (Empty Child/Doctor Dances), but I don't think he manages to pull off seasons at all. Season 6 was horrific. The whole death-of-the-doctor was a piece of shite.
*I prefer Tennant, you don't. Leaving it at that.
*River Song is annoying as hell, and it doesn't help that I don't even like Alex Kingston.
*I get the Rose hatred. I do, and my favorite companion is Amy. But Rose had a great story arch, and a superb payoff.
And as for Rickey the idiot and Jackie Tyler, sure, I'd like to see them in a special again at some point, but then you'd have to include Jack, Donna(in a way, obviously), Martha, The Master, Jenna, and Daddy Pete. I don't see that happening, or any reason to do so, so let's just hope they don't.
I can barely stand Rose.
Aaaaaand you're dead to me.
I have no MasterZangstromp!

Hey - I said I tolerated here. Only it was just barely.
I preffer the Doctor's companions Spunky. I don't find rose Spunky.
She sorts in the "kinda thick" category, with Donna.

I like Rose better than Martha Jones and her unrequited love story with the Doctor.
Also, Rose did look in to the Time Vortex and became the Bad Wolf. Probably one of my favorite parts in first season

Seven years on and that still isn't making any damn sense!
I think it's my new favorite Eleven episode. What I assumed was the climax was only halfway through the episode, and it just kept building and building to an insane degree. So much fun.
Yup. Every bit as awesome as I hoped it'd be. Too bad the next one looks like space-filler-crap, though.

Yeah, no, it doesn't...
Still one of my favorite scenes between her and the Doctor though.
(and I'm in love with Jenna-Louise Coleman)
This. Always this.
I feel like I'm the only person amongst my real life and internet friends that doesn't like Doctor Who. I don't hate it, but I just can't get into it. What do I do, FIYH?

YOU WATCH IT UNTIL YOUR EYES BLEED.
And if you still don't like it, YOU KEEP MOTHERFUCKING WATCHING!

Meh. I'm actually surprised sometimes at how much I like it in spite of the frequent silliness and slapdash plotting. When I look back on Star Trek, it seems preachy and self-righteous by comparison.
But even die-hard Whovians hang their heads when a touching exploration of the madness of Van Gogh is embellished with a giant space chicken.

You do nothing. You move on with your life and continue enjoying whatever you do enjoy.

You could start a club. Mine shows The Road to Eldorado, Sucker Punch, Bad Taste, Pan's Labyrinth, and Death Proof. On repeat. To an audience of one.
THAT was an awesome episode. I loved how the "flashback" was done old-timey with tinny piano and the lot....!!

For those who have been watching the Doctor Who Revisited, it’s been announced that the edition for the 5th Doctor will be out May 26th. The story that’ll be done for it will be “Earthshock”. Thoughts about that choice of story?
For collectors of the classic era of Doctor Who, it's be revealed that some of the stories are going to be out of print and being no longer being sold in the US. Whether that means they'll be getting the "special edition" treatment at a later time is unknown. Listed below are which stories are going to be affected and for which Doctor.
1st Doctor (WILLIAM HARTNELL)
The Rescue / The Romans
The Web Planet
The Time Meddler
The Gunfighters
2nd Doctor (PATRICK TROUGHTON)

The War Games
3rd Doctor (JON PERTWEE)
Terror of the Autons
The Time Monster
Planet of the Spiders
4th Doctor (TOM BAKER)

5th Doctor (PETER DAVISON)

The Two Doctors
7th Doctor (SYLVESTER McCOY)

The Curse of Fenric
Also includes the originals of the upcoming special editions for:
Inferno
The Green Death
The Visitation.
So what are your guys' thoughts about this? Also, is there any DVDs that you hope to get quickly since they'll be gone in the upcoming future?

You're not alone. I don't love it but its not really my favorite thing. I enjoyed the 9th Doctor and most of Tennant's run but haven't really been comfortable with Smith and have just kind of let it fall off for the most part.
I still have friends, online and otherwise, who love DW and watch it frequently. I feel like an outsider looking in but I have my own interests too. Just part of growing up
Latest episode was way better than the preview made it out to be. I remember going "Well it's a good thing this one was great, since next week looks like crap!" after watching Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.
