That's utterly fantastic.
Change "evil Sith Lord - DARTH NIKEN" to "evil Sith lord DARTH VOYNE and his young apprentice DARTH NIKEN." Correct the spelling of "separated". And change the final paragraph to "Straya, a Jedi Padawan, has been sent on a mission to investigate a smuggler base on the remote planet of Dantah, unaware that her nemesis is once again on her trail...."
EDIT:
P-p-p-p-p-pleeeeease?

Heh, "Straya"
I see from the map that you've solved your vast piles of mice problem.

Here you go!
Don't do this.
You will drive me mad with power.
/"separated"
//see? already pedantic with power.
Just uh... making sure you were paying attention! Yep, that's it.

Honestly, Owen, an opening crawl was something that I thought about as being Star Wars-y, but no one said it was easy, so I didn't dare even ask. This is tremendous.

We should do a tilt-down-to-planet at the end. Heh. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Dowen... or Owave?... I got the 21 gigs down to 3 gigs. Still HD, looks pretty good. I'll uploaded that tomorrow.
As an entity, we prefer to be called Mildred.
Be gentle with me, Mildred.
Okay, so PLEASE excuse the crudity of this model (seriously, I spent about 30 mins on this total). Just wanted to demonstrate how easy it is to do a pan down to a planet. If this looks promising I can start refining the planet and getting a proper night sky and such.
And if anybody else would rather do this, go for it, I'm super out of practice at Terragen.
Anyway ...
Edit: Blarg, it got kinda washed out in the process somewhere, but I think that's fixable. The original picture of the planet was much clearer.

Hi Bathilda, do you have the paid version which outputs to higher than 1280 x 900 and allows higher render detail?
No, I was going to buy it but it's more expensive that I had thought. : / Probably not worth doing without that.
It may be perfectly fine, let's see what resolution we're outputting to.
Actually, it'd be pretty easy to do this with a still frame out of Terragen that gets animated in After Effects.
(And for what it's worth, I kinda like the blown-out look.)
Oh my bob. You are all wonderful beautiful snowflakes.
(Also, wow. This is the last place I expected to see a George & Mildred reference. Blimey.)
*Shrug* I don't really understand resolution numbers, but this is more the direction of what it would look like. I would just keep adding water and cloud layers to smooth it out, I guess. Still kinda pixel-y, though.
Edit: And some variations on the theme.

Late to the party, but I still have the AE project for the opening crawl I made for my Lego SW short film from a few years ago, with the pan down and everything. Owen and Bathilda seem to be doing just fine, but you never know. Catastrophes happen. Also Owen's twelve.
I remember spending a ridiculous amount of time making everything as close as possible to the original opening crawl, so there's that. The stars, planet and moon are a single PSD file (meaning you can change stuff if you like, but if you want to use the original material, go ahead).
First I need to check that everything's still there (it should), though I won't be able to do it until Friday morning. But if by then you guys are still interested, let me know.
PS: Not sure what resolution the AE project is in, but it should be at the very least 720p.

If we're divvying up effects, I'll gladly grab the hologram or popup display stuff if that still happened (I've been a little out the loop over the last week or so). I've got about 500 of them to do on my own project in the near future, the practice would be good
Talk to the Norwegian. He's the hologram.
