The Last Airbender is the most uncomfortable, mind-boggling, overstuffed, overcrowded film adaptation I've seen since David Lynch's Dune.

And this chick's hairstyle... did Shyamalan really not notice this?

Last Airbender is one of the worst movies I've seen...well, ever. It is also fucking hysterical. People were rolling in the aisles when I saw this film.

1) The Dark Knight
2) Unforgiven
3) Batman Returns (just for you Trey ;-)
4) Super8
5) Citizen Cain
6) Battlefield Earth

These are all movies I either know really well, and can just listen to the commentary while I drive, or would enjoy watching again. This is why I just couldn't pull the trigger on Airbender. I've only seen it once and have no intention to ever see it again.

Re: Pick the Big Six

If anyone's interested here are the standings as of right now.

(Yes, I actually fucking counted them...yes, I am exceedingly bored right now...and yes, I am also slightly drunk.)

The Dark Knight : 159
The Last Airbender : 76
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? : 76
Unforgiven : 71
Batman Return : 69
Transformers 3 : 67
Kick-Ass : 58
Super 8 : 52
Close Encounters of the Third Kind : 50
Citizen Kane : 48
Lethal Weapon :39
The Wizard of Oz : 38
Battlefield Earth : 38
Cowboys & Aliens : 27
The Happening : 25
My Favorite Martian : 20
American Beauty : 4

And for some reason these three...cause apparently someone can't read...:

Barry Lyndon : 3
The Road : 2
Requiem For A Dream : 1

As you can see, we have a pretty clear leader, though the rest is anyone's game.

Thanks for running a tabulation on that; Brian,Trey and I are sitting here staring at that list and talking about it.

Hm. Hm indeed.

You know you would have gotten a much more accurate count if you'd had people rank all eighteen films, or at least their top ten,

Aw, dammit. C'mon Lethal Weapon! Although, that's going to be my first commentary, so maybe not big_smile

5 of my six are currently at the top smile

Here's a spreadsheet I made last night. It is updated every time someone posts a new list to ensure up-to-the-minute accuracy.

I might have OCD.

EDIT: My Top 6 is different from Maul's. I think he might have missed the more recent votes.

Re: Pick the Big Six

God help you redxavier for actually counting all those votes.  Currently I have no real issue with the list except shouldn't Kick-Ass somewhat not be included?  I mean, it was attempted a few months ago but a technically difficult preventing it from completely happening.  That's not to say that I wouldn't like to see DiF do a commentary for it but I'm worry that they might rehash from the previous attempt.

Also, up till 3/10 will the commentary that'll be posted on the website to be downloaded be the winners of this voting?  Meaning that whatever movie that you'll likely be starting this weekened, will be downloadable a few days later.  Just asking.

Re: Pick the Big Six

KickAss is on the list because it's a movie we still want to do.  If it ends up a winner, it won't be the first one we re-did after a failed first attempt.

Re: Pick the Big Six

This is from my tallying. I tried to take into account changed votes, so I'm pretty sure that this is accurate.

Re: Pick the Big Six

Interesting, you seem to have 1027 points with that. By my calculation there should be 1022 points total from the 49 voters so far - 21 each minus 6 points since rtambree chose 3 movies not from the list and 1 point by Pfosback who listed Dark Knight twice. I took into consideration the changed votes.

These are my current numbers, the big difference is the Dark Knight's 10 points:
77    Batman Returns (Trey worked on it)
162    The Dark Knight
30    American Beauty
69    Kick-Ass
49    Lethal Weapon
78    The Last Airbender
87    Unforgiven
24    My Favorite Martian (Trey worked on it)
67    Transformers 3
31    Cowboys & Aliens
25    The Happening
81    Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
54    Close Encounters of the Third Kind
51    Citizen Kane
50    The Wizard of Oz
49    Super 8
38    Battlefield Earth

I separated out results by voter, but admit I could have put a vote on the wrong line.

Taking a look at Dark Knight, it was voted for 38 times.
12x 1st place
7x 2nd place
6x 3rd place
8x 4th place
2x 5th place
3x 6th place

I'll send over my spreadsheet at the end.
