There's a ferry going from Newcastle(I believe) to Bergen, Norway. From there, it's only two hours by plane to land 500 meters from my house. Just sayin'.

Conversely Vidina, in just 500 meters from your house you could board a plane, nap for two hours, hop on a Norwegian ferry, then train it from Newcastle to London.

In all honesty, we would love to spend serious time in Norway and Sweden, but there's not the annual leave available this year (we only get 4 weeks a year). Maybe you can host the next one?

Good morning from Paris. We'll be in the UK from the 25th, starting in Edinburgh and heading south-ish. Anyone fancy a pint?

I reckon you're rubbish, mate. Although I'd have fancied a pint in Paris, but that would have made for an expensive pint with the whole train trip.

We're staying near Trafalgar Square so you're pretty damn close. I'd planned on catching Skyfall while we're in town, it seemed only right to see a Bond film when in London.

Yeah, but you might get better treatment if you either speak German (for then, you can't be English or American), or you use a broad Scottish accent (for Scotland and France are historic allies against the English).

No promises, though; it's a while since I've been in Paris, so local surliness may have been re-allocated.
