Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

I didn't think Journey to the Centre of the Tardis was all that great. The latest episode was fun, though smile

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

Yeah, "Journey" was a bit of a disappointment, if only in that it didn't really show us anything more than generic corridors and a couple of odd rooms. The library was nice, tho. Was that an homage to the telemovie?

"Crimson Horror" was great, tho. JLC looks rather fetching in Victorian apparel.

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

Well that was a freaking fun episode.

Of course, I'm always happy to pop in on the continuing adventures of Potato man and Lizard Chick (And not just cause Lizard Chick makes me feel all funny in areas that shall not be mentioned in polite company). And Zarbs you are absolutely correct, I could certainly do with some more JLC in Victorian garb, course the one the lock picking assistant was sporting wouldn't be too bad either.

/end of creepy BDA

All in all loved the shit out of it.

I love that Strax and Madame Vestra w. Asskickery Ninja Wife in Victorian London seems to be a reccuring thing.

Are we.... are we.... preparing for a spinoff? Coz I'd watch the HECK out of that one!!

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

I think there was talk of a spin-off at one point but I'm not sure it's happening now. I think it's better they stay recurring characters so they don't outstay their welcome. I love Strax but he is rather a one-joke character and that would get boring every week.

"Nightmare in Silver" was pretty damn good. Also, written by Neil Gaiman.

Matt Smith was absolutely fantastic in this episode.

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

That was an amazing episode. Wow.

Warwick Davis is incredible, he has officially made the list of people I could listen to give exposition all day, that whole history with the cybermen speech was incredible. I really wish he had more roles where he could just be someone, he's great.

And of course Matt Smith was utterly fantastic, I love when he gets to just go full out with it, always makes me happy.

I am desperately curious to see what next week brings... aside from more sexy Lizard chick and potato boy big_smile

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

Didn't think this week's ep was all that great. The kids were awful, the girl actually says 'put me down, I hate you' to a Cyberman. Ugh.

Matt Smith was awesome, though. as was Warwick Davis.

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

Yes, well, Gaiman doesn't seem to be able to relate to children very well, and wrote them like basic 6-year olds.

I think it was more the delivery I had a problem with but it wasn't a great line to begin with.

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

I didn't care for it much, but it wasn't terrible. The children and soldiers were awful, but Smith, JLC, and Wicket were terrific.

I'm always bothered when the doctor tries to go somewhere awesome for a vacation and finds that it's all run down and then, instead of hopping back in the Tardis to go back to its heyday, he hangs around until something horrible happens. He had children with him this time, even, for pity's sake.

...fair point, why DIDN'T he just pop back in time?

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

For the Doctor himself, I can imagine that his curiosity gets the better of him ("What's gone wrong here?"). But for the companions, who just want to go to the greatest ever theme park or library or honeymoon cruise or Elvis concert or whatever, it's silly.

Well, he could get better at not telling them where they're going.

I think that is what it was, his curiosity/nose for trouble. He sensed that something wasn't right and being the Doctor, he had to dive in. He could have got the kids to safety but I do think the Doctor is arrogant sometimes and thinks he can save them if they get into trouble. You'd think he'd have learned by now.

Re: Doctor Who is awesome, yeah?

Anytime you have kids, there is going to be trouble...sorry, people have a tough time writing for kids because its hard to think like a kid when you are an adult.
I haven't watched the episode, but if it involves kids in danger, I might have to pass. That's a bit of a weak point for me

God loves you!

Whoa, that was crazy! The episode as a whole was kinda meh, but that ending was awesome!
