Okay! Shooting day is coming! The costumes are fully in. (Thank you Bathilda! They are fabulous! We'll do the fitting tomorrow, and I'll post another picture.)
Drew, Holden, Jim, and Tage (sp?) are all coming either late Friday night or Saturday noonish. Our actors will be available all afternoon and evening. We'll have access to the RV only between 2 and 4, I'm afraid, so we should shoot that first, then into the woods for the dusk shots.
This is gonna be good.
Or bad, I don't know. But it's gonna be fun. I'M MAKING A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT IT MAYBE.

I'm really impressed with how elaborate this has gotten. If you guys need help with some compositing or something, I'll definitely have some free time in the next couple of months.

This is true. I was just combining Zarban's suggestions. I should have gone with a Gungan chariot race.

Are the Gungan's strapped to the wheels? Are there spikes on these chariots? Laser spikes? Does the race take place in medium high thorny brush?

What a fantastic, exhausting day! Teague and Jim scouted the locations and designed fantastic shots; Drew ran an amazing camera rig; Holden and Drew's daughters acted as PAs; and our little actors in Bathilda's costumes were amazing troopers who stayed up past bedtime to get night sky out the spaceship windows.
My brother-in-law brought a big RV to the location to be our spaceship interior. My mother delivered America's finest pizza. And we saw some Amish people.
Thunder threatened rain, but it passed us by. The light was perfect all day. The humidity and bugs only got to us at the end of the day.
If it hadn't been for the ranting, slave-driving, neurotic of a director who frankly had no business behind a movie camera (and if the RV bathroom had been available), it would have been perfect.

I really had no idea what i was in for. I expected to shoot the storyboards in 3 takes. But there was an overwhelming number of great ideas and 50 crop-dusters and a bowl of cocaine and microphone problems and no spaceship ramp.

Jeebus people, I step out for a few days to make my own damn movie and half the forum is at Zarban's place making his. Dayum guys.
