YAY.
Hey, I like things.
Who doesn't like things. What I would like is this album. PLEASE! Chad always steals my thunder.
I'd like the leak we were promised 2 months ago.
The leak is starting to feel like the vague promise of a trailer of a trailer of a trailer.
j/k I LOVE YOU, TEAGUE!
I feel like Zach Snyder telling everyone that we'll get a sneak peak at the new Batman next week.
Always next week.
But for real, trust me, there are good reasons for the wait. Long story short, it's always, "We can do it like this or like that. That will be better, but this will be faster."
And we all know how fond Teague is of saying, "Not like this. Not like this."
Not the bees.
As an aurbservant third party, everything is sounding great and the wait's worth it.
Alex, that was probably the best description of a delay for quality purposes that I've heard, ever.
"It's very good jam," said the Queen.
"Well, I don't want any to-day, at any rate."
"You couldn't have it if you did want it," the Queen said. "The rule is, jam to-morrow and jam yesterday – but never jam to-day."
"It must come sometimes to 'jam to-day'," Alice objected.
"No, it can't," said the Queen. "It's jam every other day: to-day isn't any other day, you know."
TEAGUE, look at what you're doing to Zarban!! He's starting to care about Bieber news!!
Have mercy man!!
Is he wearing a fedora? Hoo boy.

It's getting pretty desperate in here, sheesh. Right now Alex and I are lining up a horn section to record a part for Limp Dick Christmas Lights (including Kyle and Gordy from Uncomposed, which, pft, how cool is that) in the next week or two. After that it's just finishing the mixes, which is mostly on Andy's schedule, but we're already close.
...
Anyway, here's a song.
It's worth mentioning that this is not the album cut. The real song is way cooler. (Among other things, we're hiring a horn section for it. Ya dig?) The only thing this has in common with the actual song is the lyrics and lead melody.
Limp Dick Christmas Lights - Gregorian Bootleg Cut
So, listening to this with fresh ears today, I'm thinking it's an unlistenable mess. Way too many things going on at once. But I had fun makin' it. :-P
Come on, Teague, this ain't your first time, you know how this goes:
It's a solid start. And I really like your singing voice. I think the first step is just listen to it again and either reposition or remove the harmonies where it "steps on" your lead. That'll give it a bit more space, then listen again, work on the next thing.
And I have a huge hard-on for horn sections. The gains you get from adding horns is exponential.
Don't get too mired in whether it's good or bad now, just make progress. (You know, how St. Francis of Assisi said: to do the impossible, first do what is necessary. Then what is possible. Soon, you are doing the impossible).
Keep at it. Looking forward to the finished product.
"Limp Dick Christmas Lights" is probably the one I was looking forward to least, at least of those that we got samples of in the five-part documentary. Just didn't do much for me. After listening to its current, unfinished state... well, I now really want to hear it when it's finished and am looking forward to it Take as long as you need to. Just don't tell us you'll have a preview and then don't deliver
Fun idea. Something feels wrong with the way the choral backing is done, but I'm not smart enough to know what.
Lyrically, the song's central gag doesn't build to anything, like a moment of doubt that reverses itself or the revelation of a method to the madness or something.
I think the real version will be amazing though, I was really digging how it sounded on your making of materials
