Tatiana Maslany is damn good in her scenes with the soccer mum.

That's funny. That's the one incarnation I wasn't quite buying.

The idea that Felix isn't British is dumbfounding. They're both Canadian, as it turns out.

I did a little tweaking to the contrast and whatnot. I think you'll agree it's a big improvement.

THANKS TONY!

I'll remain open-minded for now, but the scene in that clip was pretty terrible.

And this from a man who (under yet another nom de plume) has personally butchered Shakespeare.

Well, there ARE two time lords in the universe at the moment.* The Doctor and his clone, Jenny.

* Right? Subsequent events didn't erase that, right?

Sure there's an answer. He's clearly alive. If the director intended it to be more ambiguous, the director failed. It's a good ending. It's just not the ending some people want to believe it is.

That's a myth. I was waiting for it, but he's clearly reining his horse as he rides over the hill.

That doesn't mean he'll survive the wound, but he's definitely not dead.

Allison, you can't brook this kind of slight, or you'll never be respected. I recommend raising an army and taking the insult to their doorstep.

David Mitchell should play a space bureaucrat behind a space desk explaining the space rules to an impatient Doctor.

The threads are for book readers and non-book readers.  Topics within each are up for grabs.  smile

Are you gonna take that, RedXavier? You should blackmail a prostitute into stabbing him in after sex.

Oh, and I watched Dogma yesterday. Interesting and not bad, but also not really funny. It's slightly overwritten and underdirected.

I watched Shane for the first time this past weekend. It was surprisingly by-the-numbers, I felt, altho if you're interested in seeing ONE old, pre-Eastwood western, this is the one.

  • Mysterious stranger arrival? Check

  • Idealistic kid? Check

  • Farmer vs rancher feud? Check

  • Sweeping music? Check

  • Thug mockingly spilling drink on hero? Check

  • Notorious killer arrival? Check

  • Country dance? Check

  • Saloon brawl? Check

  • Funeral on cemetery hill? Check

  • Villain offering to hire hero? Check

  • Gunfight showdown? Check

  • Hero riding off into sunset? Check

The only things missing are a slipknot hangin' party and a pretty gal whose pa gets shot. Ripe for a remake, too.

"Game of Thrones" LITERALLY MEANS "political strife".

Just because it's called that doesn't mean that it doesn't contain so much more. The major events of the series are motivated by desire for power, but the show has so much more going on, which is why it's such a great show.

Nope. Not really. Political strife is indeed all there is to the show. Hardly a single character has any motivation other than power, lust, and lust for power. It's like The Phantom Menace on TV, except there's 20 Palpatines and like 3 Anakins and a slave girl's tits now and then.

I watched all of season one. And it sucked balls.

So close...

So, you're saying it's NOT predictable? No longer is almost every character an asshole who relentlessly insults and schemes against purported friends and allies as well as enemies?

That would make it 50 Shades of Grey, and you'd have to recast it with Emma Watson in the Jaden Smith role.

I think the sequel to The Glass Trap would have been The Aluminum Trap. Then The Concrete Trap. Then The Digital Trap. Then The Bear Trap.

Give Hollywood SOME credit.
